Simon Says Stamp and Show ... a Tag!

Hello Everybody! Thank you for playing along with our last Challenge! The winners will be announced this Wednesday .... so don't forget to check back ... this could be your winning week! This week Simon Says Stamp and Show ... A Tag! If you want to join in the fun ... all you need to do is ... create a Tag! ... pop it on your blog ... and come back here and link up so everyone can see what you made! Before you start take a look at what the Design Team came up with...
Tracy is paying homage to the fabulous new Charles & Amelia plate from Artistic Outpost to create an adventurous tag cut using the tag and bookplate die. Add into the mix plenty of Nostalgic Tissue Tape for interest in the background and plenty of metal in the form of Philosophy Tag and Screw Brads .
It's up, up and away this week with Candy's dimensional hot air balloon tag featuring Tim Holtz' new Remnants stamp set.  Her background is done with Wild Honey and Vintage Photo Distress Stains with a touch of Broken China and Black Soot Distress InksIdeaology Foliage and Memo Pins create a lovely "FLY" flower garden below.
A lot of changes in life are on the way for Sarah and although she's not taken the plunge into Art Journalling she expressed her moods in a triptych of tags. Distress Stains, Distress Inks, a Signo Gel Pen and her favourite Wendy Vecchi stamps were her artistic tools.
Nancy is completely enamored with Prima's newest lines so she turned to Prima's Almanac paper stack and covered the tag before adding a bird ATC image from the same papers. A Prima wood ticket was added as well as a Prima clock face. Using a piece of Canvas Corp burlap, Nancy gathered the burlap creating a border at the bottom of the tag.
Spring is in the air....actually might be more like summer but whatever it is....Lynne is LOVIN' IT!! and it inspired her to create a "SPRING" tag!! She used LOTS on Distress Inks, Distress Stains and Perfect Pearls then pulled out her Melting Pot and Beeswax and COVERED EVERYTHING with wax....ohhhh the fun!!
Terry created a set of Party Tags for her daughter's birthday! She used the Tim Holtz Papillon stamp set combined with The Wendy Vecchi Just Flutterby Butterfly. Terry used lots of Rock Candy Crackle Paint and Crackle Accents on top to finish off these fun tags.
Dan used Promarkers to colour the 2 photocopied images he used as the focus on his tag.  The stamps he used were from the At The Movies and Oddities stamp sets.  After stamping the film strips, he masked them off and coloured the panels with Distress Inks and stamped over them, finally adding some water drops before fixing the two figures in place.
Ellen used color wash sprays to create a blended background, and then added stamps with paint dabbers and archival inks, a new sentiment stamp from Tim Holtz, some grapevine hearts and an idea-ology key, finishing off the edges with some zigzag stitching.
Using a Ranger Size 5 Manilla Tag as a guide I made a chain of tags out of White Card. I used Wild Honey Distress Stain and Dylusions Sprays to colour the background stamping some Tim Holtz background stamps in Vermillion. I then set about filling the tags with Dylusion Stamped images and doodles. I used my ProMarkers to colour the images in.

Simon Says Stamp and Show Your Handmade Backgrounds!

Hello Everybody! Thank you for playing along with our last Challenge! The winners will be announced this Wednesday .... so don't forget to check back ... this could be your winning week! This week Simon Says Stamp and Show ... A Handmade Background! If you want to join in the fun ... all you need to do is ... create something with a handmade background! ... pop it on your blog ... and come back here and link up so everyone can see what you made! Before you start take a look at what the Design Team came up with...
Lynne Forsythe
Lynne created her background using Dyan Reaveley's ~ Around the Edge stamps. A bit of white and clear UTEE accented with Forever Green Perfect Pearls. To finish off her diecut tag, she inked up some diecut flowers with Distress Stains and misted them with various Perfect Pearl Mists!!

Sarah Engels-Greer
A little psychedelic retro-grunge! Sarah pounded Kraft Glassine Paper with Picket Fence and Pool Alcohol Inks before embossing with Retro circles and getting inky with Walnut Stain and her new Tim stamps. Random stitching and a Trinket pin finish off this funky card!

Candy Colwell
Candy loves Dyan Reaveley's products and features them in her first ever Art Journal pages!  She created her backgrounds using various Distress Reinker colors and water in a Mini Mister.  She also added texture by stamping with Studio Paints.  Then the real fun began as Candy randomly stamped images from Dyan's fabulous stamps sets.  The detail work was done using Tim Holtz incredible new Distress Markers.

Tracy Evans
Tracy is on her travels this week and by hot air balloon too from the new Tim Holtz Remnants stamps, set against a background created adding Tim Holtz Nostalgic Tissue Tape; one layer of Claudine Hellmuth Studio Classic Teal paint, random layers of Vaseline (petroleum jelly) and then a top coat of Claudine Hellmuth's Traditional Tan paint to create a unique background. Add into the mix the handsome gentleman from Tim's Steampunk set and a little Idea-ology Sprocket Gears and Light Bulb.
Beginning with a simple tag and Ranger's metal foil tape sheets, Nancy embossed a background with a Cuttlebug Script embossing folder and Spellbinders Parisian Accents. After embossing, she used the Vintaj patinas and painted over the embossed metal, thinning the patina out with the glaze. Dark accents were added along the tag edges with alcohol ink before adding the stamped & embossed Graphic 45 image.
It's all about the BACKGROUNDS! Terry had that thought in mind when she made her Easter Spool. Lots of Vintage Photo, Crackle and Distress Crackle Paint were used. The background of the spool are made with Tissue Tape and the Easter Elements Bigz Dies from Tim Holtz.
Ellen created a handmade background with Dylusions sprays and stencils, some white gesso, and then added Dylusions stamps over the top with Ranger's new specialty stamping paper, accented with distress markers, perfect pearls, some colored hemp twine and a white pen.
Dan opted to make Claudine Hellmuth's Studio paints his focus for this challenge.  Other products he used included the Royal Script stamp set and Paper Artsy's Man with Moustache stamp Walnut Stain distress ink and a black Versafine Onyx Black ink pad.
My background was made using Wild Honey Distress Stain; Dylusions Ink Sprays and then loads of background stamping with lots of Tim Holtz Ultimate Grunge and Pyschedelic Grunge sheets. I often start on A4 size and then chop down to the size I want. This week I have opted for ATC's and I got all funky with Dylusions Stamps.

Simon Says Stamp and Show ... Anything Goes!

Hello Everybody! Thank you for playing along with our last Challenge! The winners will be announced this Wednesday .... so don't forget to check back ... this could be your winning week! This week Simon Says Stamp and Show ... Anything Goes! If you want to join in the fun ... all you need to do is ... create ANYTHING! ... pop it on your blog ... and come back here and link up so everyone can see what you made! Before you start take a look at what the Design Team came up with...
Lynne Forsythe
Lynne staying true to her style.....made some flowers. Using a piece of blank canvas paper she cut flowers using her Spiral Blossom die. She then colored them using various Distress Reinker Mixtures and Distress Stains.  The quote is comprised of Alpha Parts ~ Newsprint and Ransom colored with Snow Cap and Gold Metallic Alcohol Inks. Everything was adhered
to the velvet canvas with Multi Medium.
Tracy Evans
Tracy is definitely moving towards Spring with this little Easter duo, a card and decorated gift bag using the Easter Elements die. The background on the card has been decorated using the mini harlequin Crafters Workshop template sponged with vintage photo Distress Ink onto Claudine Hellmuth's Sticky Back Canvas, giving great texture to the card. Distress Stain wild honey, Salvage Stickers and a little background stamping from ART RULES along with stitching add a little more interest.
Terry created a shallow Shadow Box for her home. The frame is covered with Tim's  Sketchbook Tissue Tape, and even the background uses more fabby Tim tapes coated with lots of Distress Crackle Paint. Terry used Vintage Photo on all the edges, the sentiment is from the Artistic Outpost Happiness set and the flowers created with the Mini Paper Rosette's. On top she used Sprocket Gears, Game Spinners and the fabulous Just Flutterby Butterfly from Wendy Vecchi.
Candy's Anything Goes piece features Sticky Back Canvas and Distress Embossing Powders.  Her Grungeboard Bingo Embossed Dress Form on a 6x6 board was a fun project.  The Mini Baroque die cut is adorned with dimensional pieces from Tim Holtz' Haberdashery stamp set and decorative Ideaology Memo Pins.
Paint, Wendy goodies and a hint of Spring! Sarah used the Art Parts Bookplates, Leaves, Flowers and Florals to create her hinged  screens. Lots of Wendy Stamps, Claudine Hellmuth paints and Clearly for Art butterflies complete the little twosome.
This week's challenge led Nancy to Wendy Vecchi's Studio 490 Art Parts mini which she paired up with a new collection from Prima. The mini chipboard pages were covered with 6x6 papers from Printery and interspersed with chipboard from the same collection. Nancy thinks Art Parts + Prima is a perfect marriage of mini book with mini images.
Ellen altered an IKEA mirror this week.  She used Dylusions ink sprays and stencils12 x 12 sticky back canvas, and used black paint dabber with Dylusions stamps. She used the canvas to cover 8 square chipboard tiles and adhered to the frame with multi medium.
Since he moved to a larger home a while back, Dan still has a lot of empty walls to fill, so he's opted for a home decor piece this week.  He used the Residential Art and Ultimate Grunge stamp sets, snippets from the Retro Grunge card stack, Claudine Hellmuth Studio paints, Distress Stains and Distress Inks to create framed artwork.  Now all he has to do is figure out where to hang it!
I opted for a Configuration this week ... filling it with Corked Vials; Fractured Doll; Ornate Plate; Grungepaper and a few Wendy Vecchi Butterflies. The Configuration is covered with Tim's Crowded Attic paper and Tissue Tape.

Simon Says Stamp and Show ... Bottle it

Hello Everybody! Thank you for playing along with our last Challenge! The winners will be announced this Wednesday .... so don't forget to check back ... this could be your winning week! This week Simon Says Stamp and Show ... Your Bottles! If you want to join in the fun ... all you need to do is ... create something with a bottle anywhere on your work... pop it on your blog ... and come back here and link up so everyone can see what you made! Before you start take a look at what the Design Team came up with...
Tracy's vintage bottle began with a technique from Wendy Vecchi using Glue N' Seal and Clear Rock Candy adding into the mix plenty of butterscotch Alcohol Ink. No bottle is complete without flowers and here they come in the form of Tattered Florals cut from vintage paper and coloured with Distress Ink wild honey. A little more interest has been added with Idea-Ology Foliage and Ornate Plate.

Candy employed Wendy Vecchi's Faux Crazed Glass Technique to create these beautiful shabby chic bottles.  Matte Glue N Seal followed by Rock Candy Distress Crackle Paint gives that beautiful crazed effect.  Add some Ranger Archival Ink to create colored glass.  Platinum Stickles, Distress Inks, dainty flowers, Glimmer Mist Sprays and some Ideaology elements really add to their charm.
After some great advice Terry created a card with the fabulous Wendy Vecchi stamps. She adorned Bottle Caps with images and words, used Aged Mahogany Ink and Crackle Distress Paint on her heart and placed a tiny love letter in a Vial Lots of Crackle Distress Paint, Pumice Stone, Frayed Burlap and Vintage Photo inks are used on the background, along with Wendy Vecchi Art Part leaves, all finished off with a wonderful Just Flutterby Butterfly.
Ellen took a trip to Studio 490 this week, using Wendy Vecchi's Art Parts to create a piece of wall art. She used these Art Parts: flourish frame, queens and crowns, jar, flower, and scissors; She covered the frame and the base with Basic Grey paper, stamped the Studio 490 script stamp on the frame, finishing with some idea-ology pen nibs and vintage buttons.
Lynne obviously doesn't know the difference between a bottle and a jar, they are both made outta glass right???!??! she had an idea in her mind of a luminary and just couldn't shake it so she ran with it....Using Wendy Vecchi's AMAZING technique she created the flower and fir sprigs using Clearly for Art ~ WhiteOut, Glue and Seal, Distress Crackle Paint ~ Rock Candy and a generous portion of Alcohol Inks. She cut her flowers using the Mini Tattered Floral and the sprigs from the Tattered Pinecone.
With *bottle it* at this week's theme, Nancy chose to use Graphic 45's An ABC Primer as a starting point.  She stamped the little girl image from Primer 1 Cling Stamp Set and then colored her in with Copic Markers before popping her up on the tag. Thinking *reading, writing and 'rithmetic, Nancy bottled one of  Tim Holtz Idea-ology pen nibs and then added an Idea-ology Memo Pin with a stamp image from An ABC Primer.
The infamous JPG perfume bottle was a mannequin waiting to happen! Sarah altered her bottle with Pool Alcohol ink, clothed her in Tissue Tape adding colour with Red Pepper Color Wash and Spiced Marmalade Distress Stain. Tattered Leaves wings, Idea-ology and a stand created from old clock parts complete her 'Mademoiselle'.
Dan decided to dig out his supply of Lucky Squirrel clear shrink plastic to complete the cover of his funky mini-journal.  After stamping the All Bottled Up stamp with black Archival ink, he coloured them with Promarkers, shrank them and then added some Claudine Hellmuth white paint behind the bottle tops.  He stamped the Memory Box blank ticket onto kraft cardstock, mounted it on the cover and then added the bottles and beads strung onto gold wire.
I went for the whole bottled Pixie Dust thang this week ... Lots of Delicious Studio 490 background and flower stamps; Tim Holtz Stamps; Art Parts and Idea-Ology. The roof is made using Grungepaper cut with Tim Holtz's On The Edge Scallop die. The Pixie Dust is captured in a Corked Vial and no house is complete without a few Claudine Hellmuth Sticky Backed Canvas Butterflies die cut using a Movers and Shapers Die and a Dylusion's Spider!
