Simon Says Stamp and Show a House!

Happy Halloween! Thank you for playing along with last week's Challenge! The winners will be announced this Wednesday .... so don't forget to check back ... this could be your winning week! This week Simon Says Stamp and Show ... a House! If you want to join in the fun ... all you need to do is ... create something that ties in with our theme ... pop it on your blog ... and come back here and link up so everyone can see what you made! Before you start take a look at what the Design Team came up with...
Tracy decided to use the Residences Art Parts for this weeks creation, perfect for our House theme. The houses have been coloured with Distress Ink Aged Mahogany, Brushed Corduroy and Vintage Photo and stamped with background stamps from Wendy Vecchi Be Inspired...Make Art and the Art Of Making It Merry. Embellishments include Tim's Christmas Muse Tokens, Locket Keys, Hitch Fasteners and Jump Rings.
Ellen has been wanting to do a metal piece with Tim Holtz's Artful Dwellings die for a while, and this was the perfect opportunity....she used grungeboard with Ten Seconds Studio metal, then used the artful dwellings die to cut the houses, then embossed with texture fade embossing folders, one for each house. She used embellishments from Bottle Cap Inc., Tim Holtz idea-ology, 7 Gypsies, Industrial Chic, and Ranger paint dabbers to decorate her street scene.
Terry made a card for a NEW HOME. Rusty Hinge, Forest Moss, Weathered Wood and Vintage Photo were used on the background. And on top of the card and on the roof Crackle Accents was worked with just to give it that special look. The flower is from The Wendy Vecchi Dreams of Art stampset. The hands are from 7 Gypsies Clearstamp Set just like the sentiment.
Home Sweet Home........as we all know......there's no place like HOME!! The focus of Lynne's wall hanging is the 3x3 Canvas she painted with Black Gesso. Using a Mini Brick Screen she created another layer using White Gesso. When dry she applied a wash created from Modern Red, Altered Orange and Sable Brown. She painted Art Parts with the Black Gesso and Color Combo. The background is a piece of Glassine paper, embossed, sanded and color washed.

Nancy turned to Maya Road chipboard for this *home* project. Using a Classic Label, she first covered it with Bo Bunny's Et Cetera 6x6 paper pad. After inking the edges with Vintage Photo and Juniper Adirondack, she covered a teeny house from the same Bo Bunny paper pad. Then added a Maya Road key and letters to complete this *Welcome* door hanger.
Candy created this intricate little shabby chic row house tryptich. Using Embossing Powders, Distress Inks and Stains, Claudine Hellmuth Studio Paint and Tim Holtz' Ideaology Tissue Tape; she created unique backgrounds for each house. Dimensional windows with Victorian girls peering from within, delicate vines and flowers made with Flower Soft products and various Ideaology embellishments accentuate the exteriors.

Take a stroll down Configuration Lane.... Houses are often home to many memories so Sarah created a nostalgic piece to celebrate this. She aged twelve Configuration boxes with Gesso, paint and Distress Ink filling them with Ephemera, stamping and findings including a Ornate Plate photo frame, a Tattered Florals Grunge rose and buds and an Alcohol ink distressed tag on embossed metal.

Dan
Dan has designed a house for "Dexter", judging by the copious amounds of red that are splattered around!  Products he used included  the Rockstar, It's Face Art, Spills & Splatters and Dance Card stamp sets.
Linda Coughlin
Linda created a country "home"spun type of piece for her housing project that explores the many things that a home represents to us.  The houses were made from Spellbinders Label 1 die, each one stamped with a different Wendy Vecchi background stamp and topped with a gingham roof stamped with Wendy's Nature's Art set.  Her tin heart was cut with a Spellbinders die, embossed with the Tim Holtz Checkerboard texture fade and colored with Ginger alcohol.
I have had this unfinished project sitting around for a while... and decided it was high time I finished it. I have used the top and base from a Tim Holtz Configuration, the houses are stamped using some Tim Holtz Stamps; A few Studio 490 stamps and embellished with some Idea-Ology. The lovely winged clocks are from 7 Gypsies.

Simon Says Stamp and Show One Colour ... Any Colour!

Hello everyone! Thank you for playing along with last week's Challenge! The winners will be announced this Wednesday .... so don't forget to check back ... this could be your winning week! This week Simon Says Stamp and Show ... One Colour ... Any Colour! If you want to join in the fun ... all you need to do is ... create something that ties in with our theme ... pop it on your blog ... and come back here and link up so everyone can see what you made! Before you start take a look at what the Design Team came up with...
Candy loves brown. Texture and technique abound in this beautiful extra large vintage tag...all done in the brown tones. Candy used all of Ranger's browns; from the lightest Tea Dye to the darkest Walnut Stain as she blended, stamped, embossed and even created raised texture with Gesso. Die cuts include Tim Holtz Hardware Findings, Dream Movers and Shapers and Mini Butterflies. Ginger and Espresso Alcohol Ink work together on a Square Fragment to create a beautiful distressed vintage portrait.
Nancy decided to use a stash of My Mind's Eye papers for her chosen color. You can find similar My Mind's Eye colors in several of the 6x6 paper pads here and here. With the help of Tim Holtz Movers & Shapers and her Big Shot, Nancy used the Cabinet Card and layered in the mini Cabinet Card to create a frame. Then stamped and inked with Pumice Stone Distress Ink. The card was then finished off with Coventry Rose Prima Flowers and Webster's Pages trim.
Tracy decided to create a card this week using the fabulous London images from Artistic Outpost, Loverly London and London Underground. She went for a very aged, vintage feel to her card ageing all the pieces with Distress Ink Vintage Photo. Once again she has added one of her favourite technique's, adding letters to Jump Rings adhered with Glossy Accents to give dimension to her piece, along with an added bottle cap and vintage bunting.
Black is Lynne's color for this weeks challenge. She pulled out some of the G45 Communique papers. As she was cleaning up her creating area, she gathered the rest of her pieces for her card. The Mannequin is a piece peeled form a previously cut/used girlie. She painted the Bazzill heart Traditional Tan and stamped with Jet Black Archival Ink. She embossed a piece of Core'dinations card stock, sanded the high spots with her handy dandy sander, then ran Scattered Straw Distress Stain over the exposed high points. She finished off the card by using her Distrezz it All and a little Black Soot!
Terry made a Christmas Tag with lots of snowflakes and the fabulous colour Weathered Wood. The snowflakes were heat embossed and worked on with Distress Crackle Paint clear rock candy to give it the frosty look. The sentiment is from the Crafty Secrets Stampset Vintage.

Ellen started by creating a multi-layered background on her tag with distress stains, adding intensity to the color with distress inks.  Since black and white are technically the absence of color (that's her theory and she's sticking to it).... she chose peeled paint as her "one color".  Then added the circle stamp from Tim's Bitty Grunge set, covering each circle with a fragment and sprocket gears, game spinners, snaps and a little bling.  Added accents with a white pen, and the word "imagine" in grunge letters painted with peeled paint crackle paint, filling in the cracks with black soot distress ink
Sarah Engels-Greer
The first frosty mornings inspired Sarah's Winter White creation... She used an array of Wendy Veccci Leaves, Flower and Floral Art Parts to decorate her Frame. All the pieces were painted and then stamped with various background stamps from Wendy using White Stazon ink. A little Frayed Burlap Distress Ink and a Sticky-back Canvas butterfly finish this Seasonal piece.
Linda Coughlin
Linda used lots of warm shades of brown for her one color project resulting in a vintage inspired home decor piece.  She cut pie-shaped quarters of the circle and stamped each with a different vintage style background stamp using Wendy Vecchi's Nature's Art, Live and Make Art, Believe in Art and Artistic Outpost's Ephemera Backgrounds.  The Santa is from Tim Holtz's Holiday Minis  and she also used his Tattered Florals die to cut her crinoline and felt.
Dan chose orange as his colour for this week's theme.  Then he didn't like what he made and chose red instead!  Products he used included Distress Stains in Fired Brick and Barn Door, Distress Ink Pads in Fired Brick, Barn Door and Aged Mahogany and the Oddities, Creative Muse and It's Face Art stamp sets.
I LOVE brown ... so I used Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink to colour my upcycled Beer Mat. I decorated my mat using Wendy Vecchi stamps; Grunge Paper and a few peices of Idea-Ology to embellish. To lift the colour I finished with a Coppr Krylon pen and a spray of Glimmer.

Simon Says Stamp and Show Some Stripes!

Hello everyone! Thank you for playing along with last week's Challenge! The winners will be announced this Wednesday .... so don't forget to check back ... this could be your winning week! This week Simon Says Stamp and Show ... Some Stripes! If you want to join in the fun ... all you need to do is ... create something that ties in with our theme ... pop it on your blog ... and come back here and link up so everyone can see what you made! Before you start take a look at what the Design Team came up with...
Tracy is definitely in the mood for Christmas, highlighted by this weeks DT piece, a Christmas accordion card. The striped background has been created using the background stamp from Wendy's Art Fit For A Queen. Both sides have been decorated using Wendy's The Art Of Making It Merry, Tim's Season's Silhouettes, Christmas Miracle, Reindeer Flight, along with the Carved Ornaments and Pine Tree dies.
For her "Stripes" project, Candy decided to do a little mini book and tutorial. She used Graphic 45's beautiful (now retired but still available through Simon Says Stamp) Botanicabella papers. Grab your Platinum Stickles, Crackle Accents, Glossy Accents, Tim Holtz Film Strip Ribbon, Gathered Twigs and other assorted Distress Inks and create this fun mini book.
Whatever you are... Well, rather Girly today and why not! Sarah decided to go full out with bright colours and butterflies. She made a shadow box from scrap card and covered it in floral and striped Glitz Papers. She stamped and cut Wendy butterflies, using the reverse side colouring them with Stormy Sky, Rusty Hinge and Bundled Sage Distress inks. She added typed words, distressed flowers and a Glitz Afternoon Muse sentiment.
Ellen Vargo
Ellen put a little twist on the stripes theme by using "strips" of paper as the background for her tag. She started with Basic Grey's Out of Print paper, added some seasonal distress inks, Tim Holtz stamps, mini rosettes, idea-ology, and some 7 Gypsies metal corners to finish off this cute tag!

Lynne Forsythe
Lynne has been overcome with "ALL THINGS FALL" as the leaves are just bursting with color on the trees in her neck of the woods. Which brought her to this weeks challenge "Stripes". She pulled out a kraft bag and let the inking begin with the Gathered Twigs Limited Edition Distress Ink. Then she pulled out some Canvas Stickers, Kraft Core cardstock and the Autumn Gatherings die to embellish her bag. And what gift bag would be complete without a Tag??? Using the Mini Tattered Leaves dieTim's Tag Die, a piece of striped paper....the tag was created. And there you have it...a beautiful Fall Goooodie Bag!!

This is one of Nancy's favorite challenges as she loves stripes! For this she created a card using 7 Gypsies 6x6 Lille paper for the background. To the front she added Graphic 45 On The Boardwalk black and cream stripe mixed with a tag put through one of Tim's Notebook Texture Fades for more stripe action. Additional ephemera from On The Boardwalk was used to decorate the card front.

Stripes let Terry think about Christmas, presents around the Christmas tree and stockings on the chimney, so she made a Christmas card, inked it all up with Vintage Photo and Aged Mahogany. She used the papers from Christmas Past from the fabulous Graphic 45 paperpad. She worked on some wings from the Simply Wings Art Parts from The Wendy Vecchi with Glossy and Distress Crackle Paint and did the same on the small images from Christmas Past and heatembossed the Sentiment from The Tim 's Odds and Ends. The little snowflakes were punched with the McGill Starburst punch.
Dan made co-ordinating placecards and napkin rings for a lunch party he was giving this week, and took the opportunity to tie them in to this week's "Stripes" theme!  Products he used included Archival ink pads in Coffee and Sepia, the Tiny Textures and Spills & Splatters stamp sets and a Tonic Paper Distresser.
Linda decided the stripes challenge was the perfect opportunity to make a Halloween card she has been itching to make.  With her vintage images, she matcheded up a black crinoline/tulle flower cut with the Tim Holtz Tattered Florals die, a ticket from the Tim Holtz Odds and Ends set, one of Tim's Hinge Clips coated with Pitch Black Alcohol Ink and black glitter.  She also used black glitter on the Spellbinders Fleur De Lis Borderabilities die cut.
For my card this week I used a Maya Road Chip base ... Fired Brick Distress Ink;  Wendy Vecchi's Art Part stamps and Dreams of Art. I had planned to doodle in my lines to make them more stripey ... but the truth is ... I got carried away with the Make Mine Mini Art butterflies and forgot ... so monotone stripes they are!
